Gina Fratto, vice president of customer experience, co-founded Newsmatics, a news tech company, in 1995 with her husband, CEO David Rothstein. When the company first launched, she worked closely with graphic designers, marketers, and front and back-end developers to create internet news products. Today, her focus is on continuing to develop products that attract new customers and retain existing customers by addressing client feedback and resolving pain points.

Gina is a pioneer of delivering news on the internet. Back in 1995, she was an early adopter of disseminating news on the web by finding obscure sources and aggregating headlines to make it easily consumable. This is commonplace now, but nearly 30 years ago, it was unheard of. Today, there is an influx of news outlets and it is Gina’s mission to provide news consumers with tools to sort through sources to differentiate between real news and fake news and determine which outlets are reputable by educating consumers on media ownership.

Gina loves developing new products from conception to launch, especially the creative process of selecting a name, colors, and font and designing the logos. She also enjoys simplifying technology to make it easier for the end user and working with knowledgeable and hardworking teammates who are constantly innovating.

Upon graduating from Northeastern University in Boston in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Gina worked in that field for the first decade of her career until Newsmatics took off. She also served as an user experience (UX) consultant from 2014-2021.

Originally from Mount Pleasant, New York, Gina relocated to Prague, Czech Republic in 1993 with her husband. The family returned to the United States 15 years later and currently split their time between West Palm Beach, Florida and Washington, D.C. She is a member of the National Press Club, Washington., DC (NPC), Online News Association (ONA), and User Experience Professionals Association (UXPA).
